At the time, I really enjoyed this design. It was the first one I had created that was mostly white. There are some notable issues, though, which I’ll leave up to you to figure out.
After coming from simplebeta.com, I realized that I wanted to show the entire latest post, rather than a snippet of the latest post. So I devoted the entire right-hand column to that very thing.
This was also what may have been my first API encounter. I was gathering my del.icio.us bookmarks and Flickr photos via their respective APIs. One problem, though, was that I wasn’t caching them. And since they were in the layout, the site became extremely slow because it had to go out to those two sites first each and every time a page was requested. Yikes. Live and learn I suppose.
