The Dashboard

The concept (remember, this is still in demo form) of the dashboard is just like that of any other: an aggregation of the most important things the app cares about. Well, in the case of Footprints, it cares mostly about profiles and other “social” aspects.

Currently, there are three pods (for lack of a better word) that show things that you may care about. The idea here is that they will be somewhat customizable. If you don’t want to see the latest profiles, you don’t have to.

The sidebar has also been built in a customizable fashion (although it’s incredibly boring in this view).

NASA Footprints is an application we are building for NASA. It fits in nicely with their recent redesign.

The name “Footprints” came from the idea of tracking, if that makes sense (wasn’t my idea). The whole application really revolves around user profiles and user management. NASA will use it to maintain the history of their interns and the various programs they were (or are currently) involved in.

This first run is more-or-less a demo/prototype, but it’s fully functional thus far. It has been handed off to a focus group in order to collect more feedback and provide better direction for the future. I’ll post more updates/screenshots here as the application builds out.
