Don’t even ask me why I did this, because I won’t be able to provide an answer. I guess I thought since she was (is) a big part of my life, I’d include her in the mix. Now, though, I don’t feel comfortable with that sort of thing, and almost neglected this screenshot, in fact. But for what it was, I suppose it wasn’t all that bad.

This was my very first Ruby on Rails application. I moved my first PHP site (which was at rpheath.com) over to this one, and decided to try out Rails rather than rebuild it in PHP. I don’t have much PHP experience, but I wasn’t all that fond of it.

I don’t know what sort of mood I was in where I wanted a site that was sort of vague like it had hidden meaning or something (almost more company-like). I remember listing out about 20 potential domain names and then narrowing that list down based on availability.

The colors are interesting, too. The design before this one (the PHP site) was a bit bland so I guess I tried the other end of the spectrum. Like any designer (now with experience) would think, this site is awful! But it has made its way into the portfolio for nostalgic purposes.
