Here you can find all of the homes built and sold by Richbuilt. They only wanted one image to represent a house, so that’s what they got. However, at this point in time, I was regretfully not auto-generating different sized images as I am on this site (and any other site I’ve built that deals with image uploads). I guess that’s part of progressing as a developer. Unfortunately for Richbuilt, at the time that piece of knowledge was missing from my repertoire ;-)

Richbuilt Homes is basically a showcase for, well, Richbuilt homes. They came to me wanting some web presence, where potential buyers could browse listings and view prior homes built to ensure the quality of the company.

They didn’t want to rely on me (or any other web extraordinaire) in order to make updates to the site. Which, of course, is how I prefer it to be. So I built them a small admin side that allowed them to update just about all of the “moving parts” on their own.

In terms of the design itself, I think the most difficult part was to incorporate their logo. I knew I didn’t want to base the site on white and blue, so I took a chance that the logo would blend in. It actually doesn’t blend in, but I think fits. They wanted it to be a dominant attribute of the design, so the fact that it stands out was a good thing.

This site was built using Ruby on Rails.
