This is what it looks like to add/edit posts. As you can see, the body supports Textile. The tags to the left are all of the available tags in the system. If I click one, it will append it to the list in the “Tags” text box; if I click it again, it will remove it from the list (see here for the jQuery plugin).
Also, notice how there is a “Publish At” time stamp. This allows me to write articles that can be published at a later date (like outside of work, or first thing in the morning).
In addition to that, I’ve added the ability to keep a post in draft mode. This allows me to record thoughts or post ideas, without having to write the post in its entirety. I can also preview the posts as it would appear live.
From here, I’m also able to turn comments on/off for a particular post.
These are all things common to most content management systems, or “blog engines”, but is nearly the first time I’ve accounted for them on my own site.
