While performing a review, the manager may need to be reminded of what precisely the 2 means, for example. Clicking the “Show Performance Descriptors” link will slide down a list showing what the numbers mean.

This allows the manager to be accurate with his/her review and not have to go back and forth as to what the numbers indicate.

The Competency Management Service (CMS) was built to supplement the Network Learning Alliance. It’s a tool that allows a company to measure its performance by modeling the competencies of its employees.

Each company can build models that can be assigned to its employees. A model is really just a group of competencies that accurately reflects the very job being modeled. Each competency can be reviewed by multiple managers. Reviews are really the heart of the system.

The service suggests NLA training based on the outcome of those reviews. It has seamless integration with NLA via API’s on both ends, and all of the company management and authentication happens external to the CMS. It was a fun and challenging project to work on.
