Viewing Performance Descriptors

When viewing the dashboard, a user see’s the chart with numbers ranging from 0-5. In case the user forgets what those numbers indicate for any particular competency, he/she is able to find out by clicking the “Show Performance Descriptors” link.

It will slide down a list explaining what each of the levels mean for that particular competency. This is different for each competency within the list, unless the default descriptors were left alone.

The Competency Management Service (CMS) was built to supplement the Network Learning Alliance. It’s a tool that allows a company to measure its performance by modeling the competencies of its employees.

Each company can build models that can be assigned to its employees. A model is really just a group of competencies that accurately reflects the very job being modeled. Each competency can be reviewed by multiple managers. Reviews are really the heart of the system.

The service suggests NLA training based on the outcome of those reviews. It has seamless integration with NLA via API’s on both ends, and all of the company management and authentication happens external to the CMS. It was a fun and challenging project to work on.
