Since a competency can only be added within the context of a model (other than via importing), you must get to this area once dealing with a specific model.

Then it’s just a simple form no different from anything else. This is an admin-only option.

All competencies created are company specific and do not span across the entire system.

The Competency Management Service (CMS) was built to supplement the Network Learning Alliance. It’s a tool that allows a company to measure its performance by modeling the competencies of its employees.

Each company can build models that can be assigned to its employees. A model is really just a group of competencies that accurately reflects the very job being modeled. Each competency can be reviewed by multiple managers. Reviews are really the heart of the system.

The service suggests NLA training based on the outcome of those reviews. It has seamless integration with NLA via API’s on both ends, and all of the company management and authentication happens external to the CMS. It was a fun and challenging project to work on.
