This view shows is what you get by clicking “competencies” next to any model anywhere in the system. This view is an admin-only option.

The upper list shows all of the existing competencies associated with this model, and provides the appropriate options for each one.

The list below shows all of the available competencies (within the company) that have not been associated with this model. It’s a simple check box update form.

As you can see from the screen shot, the live filter has been used to find competencies related to “leadership”. The list will dynamically update in real-time, allowing the manager to find what he/she is looking for much faster.

The Competency Management Service (CMS) was built to supplement the Network Learning Alliance. It’s a tool that allows a company to measure its performance by modeling the competencies of its employees.

Each company can build models that can be assigned to its employees. A model is really just a group of competencies that accurately reflects the very job being modeled. Each competency can be reviewed by multiple managers. Reviews are really the heart of the system.

The service suggests NLA training based on the outcome of those reviews. It has seamless integration with NLA via API’s on both ends, and all of the company management and authentication happens external to the CMS. It was a fun and challenging project to work on.
