So, here’s the screen for viewing a photo. I find that pictures (and screenshots) look better on a black background, so that’s why it has an almost black frame.

If you click the image, you can view the full size (well, the largest of the resized photos).

The sidebar shows a bit of the photo details, although it’s not incredibly useful. It’s mainly for me.

I’ve been longing for a place to store a few of the noteworthy projects I’ve had a hand in. I’m glad I finally took the time to develop a stand-alone digital portfolio.

I decided to add photos and art to my portfolio as well. I have several framed drawings and paintings that I’ve done, but getting them to a digital format will be challenging (mostly because I’m too lazy to do it). So, don’t expect too many artsy entries, it will be mostly photographs.

This application is a RESTful design and built using Ruby on Rails. I’m using jQuery instead of the standard prototype/script.aculo.us in which all the Rails helpers are built upon.

And as for the grunge look with the paint splatters and coffee stains, who knows. I tried something new and just ran with it. Overall, I think it turned out pretty good.
